Details for 1893 Ruysch (1508) Map

This beautiful map is historically very interesting. This is one of the first maps of the new world. It was created by Johannes Ruysch and appeared for the first time in 1507.

On this map of 1893, more geographic points than before can be seen along the eastern sea route to the Orient, which was of particular importance for Europeans of the 16th century.

The map was designed by Johannes Ruysch in polar projection, with the focus on South America, the islands of the West Indies and a part of North America.
